Commissioned Men

“At whatever place you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there. Our God will fight for us.” – Nehemiah 4:20

The ‘Commissioned Man’ is one who will be there in the toughest moments, the hero who needs no accolades, the warrior who sheds his blood for others, the one for whom sacrifice for the cause of Christ is expected and embraced.

Across the globe today over 2,000 men have qualified to be part of an elite group of men who have been “Commissioned” with a ministry majoring in men. From Peru to Indonesia, from Miami to Kampala strong men have accepted the challenge to living the life of a warrior for God. These are the men who will change the world.

‘Commissioned’ men are a powerful and Godly group of trained men, men who understand what it is to be a warrior, men who have paid the price of training and sacrifice to be called, “A Commissioned Man”. They are men who have completed the Majoring in Men curriculum, achieved the standards of a faithful man, and been approved by their family and pastor to receive this highest honor.

A commission is defined as an authorization or a command to act in a prescribed manner or perform prescribed acts. It is a charge giving authority to act for or on the behalf of or in the place of another.

We read in 2 Timothy 2:2, “And the things that thou has heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men who shall be able to teach others also.”

The men who have been commissioned have accepted a ministry majoring in men, to bring men to a place of identification with Christ and impress them with the reality that “manhood and Christlikeness are synonymous.” CMN will commission them to reach others with the Maximized Manhood Biblical principles through evangelism, teaching and living a Christlike life.

Commissioned men receive a sword, the symbol of a trained warrior, of a man expected to lead others. The sword is a weapon of battle and the giving of a sword to Commissioned men is recognition that they are now armed for battle, to fight for the souls of men.

The Standards for Commissioning

To be commissioned a man will complete the following Majoring In Men® Curriculum Core and any three of the MAJORING IN MEN® Curriculum Elective books with the corresponding workbooks. This will most often take 2 to 4 years… it is not an easy task, nor should it be truncated or compressed – without the proper time put into each area of learning, the men will only have read books and filled out answers, rather than get truth into their hearts.

This is not about swords or books, it is about the establishing of the Kingdom of Heaven. This is about raising up strong, trained and powerful men of God… full of compassion, full of grace and full of the fire of the Holy Spirit!

For a man to receive a full “Commission,” he must also complete three essay questions for the three books of his choice (found on www.EdCole.org). He must demonstrate that he is a faithful and active member of a local church, that he is a faithful giver of tithes and offerings, and that he fully participates in outreach ministry. He is to submit an Application to Receive a Commission to the local church to be reviewed by the pastor and leadership of that men’s group or of the church. If he is married, his wife must also approve, if single he must have a sponsor.
